See if this sounds better…
We fix bad audio recordings. We improve good audio recordings. We duplicate CDs and put them in pretty packaging. We transfer audio from tapes (cassette tapes, reel to reel tapes, etc.) to digital formats. Converting to digital is the starting point for preserving your recordings. Digital recordings can be duplicated with no loss of quality, so you don’t need media that lasts forever (none do), you can make multiple copies in case any one of them fails in years to come.
We offer CD duplication for any number of copies, design for all kinds of packaging.
In NYC, we even record audio on location. We do stereo recording for concerts such as choirs and classical music. With ten years of experience recording in New York spaces, we can make valuable contributions to the final quality of a recording by dealing with noise problems such as subways and HVAC systems.
We’ve helped audio projects along every step of the process – from inception to duplication – let us know what we can do for you.
For example
- You have an old cassette tape of your grandmother sitting at the kitchen table telling family stories. We can digitize the recording, clean up the loud hum of the refrigerator in the background, and hand you a newly mastered CD in which you can actually hear the punchline to the story about cousin Normy.
- You have an audio recording of a school concert that was recorded by a well-intentioned, but not very experienced volunteer. We can clean it up.
- You have a recording of your recital that you’d like to give out to friends and family, and you’d like the presentation to say something besides “Sharpies are my favorite felt-tip pens.” We print on the disc surface and can provide just about any kind of packaging you can imagine.
- You mail out fifty CDs each week as part of an audio ministry and would like to reduce costs. We can set you up with custom printed post-ready packaging that will take an ounce or two off your postal rate, improve your presentation, and keep a bit of plastic out of the landfills all at once.
We often get requests to transfer a commercial tape or record. It’s almost never cost-effective to have us do this. Usually, when people ask, it’s because they haven’t been able to find a replacement. Do check ebay and the amazon marketplace, as well as the iTunes store. We’ve had very few such requests that we couldn’t find available for purchase elsewhere. That said, if you have an old recording that’s out of print and can’t be found anywhere, give us a call. (While you shouldn’t consider this professional legal advice, it is legal (at least, here in the USA) to make a backup copy of a recording you own, provided you keep the original. Only one of the two should be in use at any one time.)
